The first publication
of the Fertility Institute of the Mid-South in Memphis, Tennessee was Intra-Abdominal
Laser Surgery in 1986. The
In 1992, a dioxin
exposed monkey colony at the Harlow
Primate Center was identified by the Endometriosis Association as a resource.
Fertility Institute of the Mid-South funding was used to support the
research effort in these animals. This
has resulted in several abstracts and papers on the toxic effect of dioxin
In 1994, a joint study with UT was undertaken
to investigate the possibility of an association of positive chlamydia
titers with ovarian cancer. The
study has resulted in three publications.
Other funding has been used to support investigation at the University of Florida, Vanderbilt University, Dartmouth University and Yale University.
